For your 2018 Chevrolet Traverse first we need to know if you have a limited edition trim(old body style) or the new body style.
The Limited edition will be able to utilize a Pigtail # 3026-P to install a Brake Controller # 90195. The location of the pigtail end will be behind the manual parking brake. The controller can then be mounted on the dashboard for easy access.
For the new body style Traverse you will need to remove the lower left kick panel that conceals the wiring. There are 4 wires that are terminated without a connector. Those are the wires you will need to wire in the hardwire pigtail that is included with the kit. Due to the location of these wires you will want to get a longer Pigtail # 7894.
If wiring worries you or you don't want a brake controller mounted in your vehicle the Curt Echo # C51180 is a great option as well. This will plug into your 7-way on your Traverse and is controlled with a smartphone through the Curt App. The benefit to this is a simple installation that can be used with virtually any vehicle and trailer combination.
