Load Extender Options For Carrying Kayaks
Question:
I have a new Chevy Colorado short bed and want to carry Kayaks 2 of them sometimes 14ft and 12 foot. Which extender would work better? The goal Post type Malone or Maxxtow of extenders or Darby with no goal posts ? Which Brand as well would be good? Thank-you.

Of your options they all are going to get the job done. If you're wanting something that looks the best I would go with the Yakima LongArm Extender # Y01149. If you're not concerned with the looks go with the Malone Axis # MPG907. It has more ground clearance in it's lowest setting but it's width is only adjustable from 24 inches to 48 inches so it may not be wide enough for your application. The Erickson # EM07605 has a 51 inch width so be sure to measure your kayaks width to see which is best for you.
The Yakima LongArm can come with some bed rails if you wanted this kit # Y01160-59-49! IF you don't have a tonneau cover then this would be a great way to get your kayaks to and from the water better than just laying them in your bed.
