Is It Okay To Travel With Cargo Carrier Folded Down and Empty
Question:
I’m traveling home and do not need to use the cargo carrier for our way back. Can I travel with the carrier down and empty?

Expert Reply:
You absolutely can travel with the cargo carrier folded down and empty. Some cargo carries like the Curt # C18151 has reflectors built into the back face, so it'll be easily visible from behind even at night. Just don't forget it's back there when you back the vehicle.
If your carrier doesn't have reflectors on it, we offer Conspicuity Tape like part # 465-4K that you could apply to a clean, flat surface on the carrier.
