Tail Light Kit For Kuat NV Base Bike Rack

Question:

I have a Kuat NV 2.0 base bike rack that Im trying to find solution for adding tail light kit in the two situations I use the bike rack. 1. When the rack is carrying two bikes without a bike cover. 2. When the rack is carrying two bikes with a bike cover in rain. The bike cover I use is from Team Obsidian XL cover: length 82 in, height 46 in, width 37 in and has no integrated tail light option. I attached a picture Ive reviewed other QandA and found LED kit 98174LED and bracket BK70BB. Just not sure where on the Kuat NV 2.0 I would actually mount this. So wondering if you had any suggestions... Also, not sure how this lit kit and brackets would work when using the bike rack with the cover. So wondering if you had any other suggestions for light kit when the bike cover is being used? Ive attached a photo of a skinz cover with an integrated light system that go me thinking of how I might be able to attach a tail light system onto a cover. Appreciate any suggestions.

The LED light kit # 98174LED and bracket # BK70BB is for a cargo carrier like this one # C18152. It will not attach to your Nv 2.0 # BA22B without rigging it up. Your best bet is to get something like the magnetic tow lights # PE26UR. These will connect to your 4 pole on your vehicle and will attach to your roof via magnets. This light kit won't interfere with your bike cover as the others may. Keeping the lights on your roof rather than your bike rack will be much more visible too.

I too have kuat nv2 bike rack on Jeep Grand Cherokee. When loaded and tarred lights and license plate covered. I purchase curt led 6” strip lights but don’t seem to be enough. Want to use magnetic lights on top of Jeep but that puts them at a height of 70” and DOT specs say max. 60” high. Thoughts on creating a pvc pipe attachment with trailer lights having a license plate light and spicing in my led strip lights so I light up the road like a Christmas tree??
