You can absolutely install the Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller # RED44FR to replace the factory trailer brake controller in your 2014 Ford F-250 Super Duty XLT Crew Cab.
You will need the Redarc Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # 331-TPH-005 to plug into your factory trailer brake controller port after unplugging the integrated factory controller, and then plug the other end into the # RED44FR to take care of all of the wiring.
Since your truck has the OEM controller you will need to have a local Ford dealer flash the computer to get rid of the error code from unplugging the controller, but the # RED44FR will be much more user friendly and preform a lot better so it is a great choice.
I included videos for both of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
