Do 2-3/8" Diameter Axles Use The Same Bearings And Hubs As 3" Diameter Axle?

Will the brake drums and bearings from a 2 and 3/8 in diameter axle fit a 3-in diameter axle?

It is possible, but unlikely that the bearings and hub and drum assembly from a 2-3/8" diameter axle will fit a 3" diameter do to 2-3/8" diameter axles typically having a 3500lb where the 3" diameter axles are typically 5200-7000lb axles.

The only way to be sure would be to determine the bearing combination each axles uses. The easiest way to do this is by removing one of your current hubs and looking for the bearing numbers stamped in the face of each bearing as shown in the included picture of the # L44649.

If the bearings are worn to the point that you cannot read the bearing numbers you will need to use digital calipers like # PTW80157 to precisely measure your spindle according to the included diagram.

If you can confirm the bearing combination your axle uses I would be happy to recommend a braking assembly, hub and drum assembly, and bearings for you.
