Recommended 4-Bike Carrier For Various Bike Types
Question:
I have been looking for a trailer hitch bike rack to mount a mix of 4 different family bikes 2 front suspension mountain bikes 1 beach cruiser, 1 kids bike I have looked at your reviews of the Swagma quad 2+2. I was hoping for something like the yakima Hanover 8002484 but that one seems to only be for mountain bikes and cant accept my kids bike and wife Beach cruiser. I was wondering out of the these which is best rated and more liked by your staff. I have a 2021. Honda pilot with hitch. And are there any others I should look at? Thank you for your assistance

The Yakima HangOver 4 Bike Rack for Mountain Bikes - 2" Hitches - Tilting # Y02484 is indeed designed for mountain bikes that have suspension forks and it would not be ideal for your beach cruiser or children's bike. The Yakima HoldUp Bike Rack # Y02443-2 and the Swagman Quad 2+2 Bike Rack # S64FR are both excellent bike carriers that can be converted from a 4-bike rack to a 2-bike rack, but I would go with the Yakima over the Swagman.
The Yakima weighs 98 pounds and the Swagman weighs 86lbs. These are both great racks with similar features.
No matter which of these two bike racks you go with, you will want to use Yakima Tube Top Bike Adapter Bar # Y02531 for the women's, children's, and step-thru bikes. Both bike racks will fit your 2021 Honda Pilot without an issue, assuming you have the 2" hitch receiver which I am showing is the only size available. I have attached demonstration videos for you to check out.
