Recommended Weight Distribution System For 2020 Ford F-150 Towing Grand Design Imagine 2400bh

Question:

Hello I have a 2020 F150 with Max Tow and 5.5ft bed. I will be purchasing a Grand Design Imagine 2400bh which is 28 feet 11 inches long and has a dry weight of about 5700 lbs. In your opinion what would be a good choice for a WDH for this set up Thanks

Personally I am a fan of the Fastway e2 weight distributions systems due to the quality of the hitch you get for the money, and the built in 2-point sway control that does a great job at keeping the trailer going straight down the road.

To determine which system will work for your 2020 Ford F-150 with the Max Tow package and your new Grand Design Imagine 2400bh you will need to know the total tongue weight of your setup.

Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo stored behind the rear axle of your truck. The easiest way to get an accurate tongue weight measurement is by using a tongue weight scale like the # e99044, but there are other ways outlined in the included help article.

Since your 2400bh has a GVWR of just under 7500lbs and tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the trailer weight you should expect to see 750-1125lbs tongue weight if you load the trailer to the GVWR.

With those numbers in mind if you find your total tongue weight is between 600-1000lbs the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Round - 10,000 lbs GTW, 1,000 lbs TW # FA94-00-1000 would be a great choice. This option includes a shank but you will need either the 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286 to match the coupler on your trailer.

If your total tongue weight exceeds the 1000lb maximum of the # FA94-00-1000 you will need to step up to the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution w/ 2-Point Sway Control - Trunnion - 12,000 lbs GTW, 1,200 lbs TW # FA92-00-1200 instead. This option works with total tongue weights ranging from 800-1200lbs, but will still need 2" hitch ball # A-90 or 2-5/16" hitch ball # 19286.

I included videos for the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
