Hitch and Ball Mount Solution for 2012 Audi A4 for 8-1/2 inch Rise
Question:
I have a 2012 audi A4 avanti wagon with a Curtis hitch. 2000 gross trailer wt, 200lb max tongue wt I am going to pull a Sylvansport GO trailer/tent. It is 840 lbs, without gear.1850lb GVWR and 85lb tonged weight. unloaded. I may add 150 in gear. The height of the trailer Hitch is 17 and has wiring for tail lights. brake and blinker. The top of my 1-1/4 trailer hitch is 8.5 Can you help me choose a riser hitch and a 2ball to get me as close to the 17 inches hight. I think 16 will work. I also need the lighting harness. Thank you

The issue with Class I hitches like the Curt you have installed on your 2012 Audi A4 is that you can only use the recommended ball mount since it's a lower capacity hitch. Since you have a Curt hitch that's Class I you'd have to use the # C45521 which only has a rise of 2-5/8 inches.
There's a 2 inch hitch that fits your 2012 Audi A4 with the EcoHitch part # 306-X7324 which would allow you to use a ball mount with a rise close to what you need like with the # AMSC10 which has an 8-3/4 inch rise.
