Auto Slide 5th Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2020 GMC Sierra 2500 Short Bed
Question:
Have a new 2021 GMC 2500HD 4x4 Crew Cab and Short Bed with the Gooseneck/5th Wheel Prep package Puck System Need a sliding 5th wheel hitch. Would like to have an auto-slider but dont see that there are any available at this time. Any suggestions?

We've got exactly what you need. I'd recommend the Demco Hijacker Auto Slide, part # DM8550034 for an 18K capacity or # DM8550035 for the 21K capacity. Either hitch would need the # DM6333 adapter to join the hitch to the pucks. During turns, the hitch head will automatically slide rearward for proper clearance between the front of the 5th wheel and the truck cab, and after the turn is complete, the hitch will automatically return forward. I'll link to a demonstration video that will tell you more.
If you'd like to install a 7-way trailer connector in the truck bed so you don't have to run the wiring for the 5th wheel up over the tailgate, you can install one using part # HM54FR. I've linked to an install video for you.
