Good morning. Your team has always been very helpful. I would like your input, please, on the following question. I know you may have some questions for me so please let me know. I may be buying a 2021 Tiffin Wayfarer, 25TW. Can this unit tow a 2018 Ford Edge? Thank you in advance.

It looks like a Tiffin Wayfarer 25TW has a towing capacity of 5000-lbs and the curb weight of a 2018 Ford Edge tops out at 4400-lbs roughly, so you should be able to flat tow that vehicle behind it without any issues. You'll want to consult with the dealer or Tiffin for confirmation on this. When it comes to your 2018 Ford Edge, there are some variations of the Edge that are not flat-towable; if you have the 2.0L EcoBoost with an automatic transmission (6F35) then you need to tow it using a dolly or with all 4 wheels off the ground. If you've already been flat towing this vehicle then you've already got the parts you might need, but in the event that you don't, I've gone ahead and linked those for you below.

For the tow dolly option I recommend using the Demco Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes - Foldable - 4,800 lbs # DM9713045 since it's going to fold up easily for compact storage and it comes with reliable disc brakes for added stopping power. It also comes with lights included so you won't need to add those to your setup.

If you're going to flat tow your Ford Edge then you'll need base plates, a compatible tow bar, safety cables, tow bar wiring, supplemental braking and most likely a high/low adapter.

Base plates- Blue Ox # BX2667
Tow bar- Blue Ox Alpha # BX7380 (comes with safety cables included)
Tow bar Wiring/Lights- Magnetic lights # TL21RK
Supplemental Braking- SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO # SM99251

Typically a high-low adapter needs to be used for a flat towing setup as well to ensure that your tow bar sits within the 3" safe range that is highlighted in the helpful article on choosing an adapter. I have also linked our selection of adapters for you to filter through in the case that you need one.

Be sure to follow any specific instructions highlighted in your owner's manual in regards to towing your Edge. I've also linked some review and installation videos of these parts mentioned for you to check out.
