How Wide Does My Frame Need to Be to Install the Roadmaster Comfort Ride System

Question:

Could someone tell me how far appart the bolt holes are in the bracket that mounts to the trailer frame in the roadmaster shock kit 2460. Ineed to know the distance width wise not length wise. I have to see if my frame is wide enough to put all 4 bolts in.

Expert Reply:

I was able to confirm with my contact at Roadmaster that the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 5,200-lb to 7,000-lb Axle # RM-2460 frame brackets are 3.4" wide, and the bolt holes are spaced 1.16" center on center. That measurement will allow for a fit on almost any frame since you only need about 1.5" total space to fit those brackets on. This part is part #10 in the exploded drawing I've attached to this answer.

I've also linked a review/installation video and the instructions in case you wanted to check those out, as well.
