How Do I Carry 2 Kayaks On The Roof Of My 2020 Ford Transit T250?
Question:
Hello~ I am very interested in purchasing 2 of the TH898Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier and Lift Assist with Tie-Downs - Side Loading - TH898 from your company. But before doing this, I really want to be sure that these units will fit properly on a 2020 Ford Transit 250 Cargo Van Medium height roof before purchasing. I do like the fact that you have the vehicles listed on your site...excellent! But this is a large expense and want to be absolutely sure, without a doubt, that these kayak lifts will work for me. With kind appreciation

I have a solution for you to carry 2 kayaks on the roof of your 2020 Ford Transit T250, but per Thule you cannot use two of the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carriers # TH898 on the roof of any vehicle. This is mainly because of the large amount of space that each Hullavator requires. I recommend using the Thule Hullavator for one kayak and then using another roof-mounted carrier for the second kayak.
You will first need to install crossbars on the roof of your Transit if you do not already have some. The best setup for you will be the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - Aluminum - Silver - 71" Long # RRVA180S-2. You will also need Leg Kit # RRRLTPFC-2 and Leg Adapter Kit # RRVA-FK1-2. This is an aerodynamic and low-profile crossbar setup that has a weight capacity of 220lbs. It has a built-in T channel on the top of the crossbar which allows many accessories to be installed.
Now you can add the Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier # TH898 along with another kayak carrier like etrailer J-Style Kayak Carrier # e98878. Both of these carriers will fit the Rhino-Rack aero crossbars mentioned above. Keep in mind that the Hullavator requires a vehicle with a roof weight limit of at least 130lbs. Remember to never exceed your vehicle's roof capacity. I have attached demonstration videos for the crossbars and kayak carriers mentioned.
