Recommended Trailer Tail Lights That Do Not Protrude Far From Trailer

Question:

I need to replace the lights on my utility trailer. The trailer is set up to use rectangular, low profile lights like these TLL16RK. However, due to the design of the trailer they project out and are easily and frequently broken. I would like to switch to a light that does not project out from the trailer possibly like this STL78RB. However it is not clear how these will mount from the photos. I can drill new mounting holes if necessary. Would these work? Is there another type that might work better? The less the light projects out from the trailer frame the better for me.

The Optronics LED Trailer Tail Light - Stop, Turn, Tail - Submersible - 10 Diode - Oval - Red Lens # STL78RB you were looking at mount with the black ring that goes around the light. It may be possible to make a bracket large enough to mount these to, but with the light being 7-9/16" long x 3-5/16" tall the bracket would need to be at least this big. While it would require a little creativity this would be the best option for a light that does not extend far past the trailer since they are only 3/4" thick as shown in the included diagram.

The typical trailer lights that are not flush mounted like the LED Combination Tail Light Kit for Trailers under 80" Wide - Submersible - Driver and Passenger # TLL56RK are 2-1/4" thick and would stick out quite a bit more.

I included a video for the # STL78RB for you to take a look at.
