Installation of Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75578 On A 2009 Jeep Liberty
Question:
I have a 2009 Jeep Liberty and Id like to install the Draw-Tite 75578 hitch. My first question is how far out the hitch will extend beyond the bumper. Id like it if it was pretty close to flush with the bumper. My second question is whether or not the vinyl part of the bumper needs to be trimmed for the installation. I was told that it did need to be trimmed. Thank you!

On your 2009 Jeep Liberty, the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 75578 is a compatible fit and will extend past the rear fascia of your vehicle as shown in the graphic I have provided. The measurement from the center of the hitch pin hold to the outer edge of the bumper is approximately 2-1/2 inches.
Regarding the trimming of your bumper, there is no trimming necessary while installing this hitch on your vehicle. I have provided links to the installation instructions for this product as well as a video showing the typical installation of this hitch.
If you intend to tow a trailer with this hitch, you might be interested in the Tow Ready T-One Wiring Harness # 118384. This harness can be used with 5-, 6-, and 7-Pole Adapters. I have provided a link to a video showing the typical installation of this item.
If you need a ball mount, you might be interested in the etrailer.com Ball Mount Kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, a 1-7/8-inch ball, a 2-inch ball, a pin and clip, and an etrailer.com ball mount bag. I have attached a link to a video review of this product.
