Can I Leave the Tailgate On the Truck and Use the Brophy Hitch Stair # RHS2
Question:
Is there a way to use these steps if you leave the tailgate on as a platform to stand on outside of the camper? 97 F-150 with a pop up type 6foot camper thanks

You do not have to remove the tailgate on your 1997 Ford F-150 to use the Brophy Hitch Stair, # RHS2. If you keep the tailgate down you will not be able to use the top step because it will be covered by the tailgate, but you can still use the lower step.
If you are worried about the tailgate hitting the top step when it is down, you will want to measure the distance between your tailgate and the top of your trailer hitch receiver when the tailgate is down. As long as you have more than 5-1/4 inches from the top of your trailer hitch receiver to the tailgate when the tailgate is down.
