Lippert Power Stabilizer Jack Not Working Properly
Question:
Our last trip out required our rear stabilizer jacks to be fully extended straight down. At the end of the trip, they were stuck and had to be manually raised. Now the switch is making the click sound it always does but the motor is not engaging. The front jacks still work fine. Is this a reset breaker or fuse issue? Assuming an auto reset would continue working after being tripped so if it is not working, does it need to be replaced or is there a manual reset?

Your Lippert # LC298707 Electric Stabilizer Jack is also known as the "PSX1" jack. There are a few possible issues at hand and with a bit of testing we can probably narrow in on the malfunction. First I have attached a wiring schematic for this system. Note that there should be an inline fuse between the battery and the switch. Verify that the fuse is not blown using an electrical tester like the Performance Tools # PT89ZR.
If you have power there, then trace the power to the extend/retract switch and see if you have power when you operate the switch. If the switch is defective then refer to the PSX1 Electric Stabilizer Components documentation to identify which style switch you have for replacement. I have attached a picture showing the different styles and part numbers.
If you have power to there, test at the motor for power when the switch is operated. If you do not, inspect the wire from the switch to the motor. If you have power but the motor does not operate, then the motor is defective and you will need to order a new one. The part numbers are Lippert # LC352338 for standard or Lippert # LC138445 for the Klauber C800 style motor.
The clicking you hear is probably from the gears in the motor. The can be stripped if the stabilizer jack is manually retracted/extended to its fullest extent and the operator continues to rotate manual override. Also, when manually retracting/extending, it is a good idea to disconnect one of the wire leads to the motor to prevent backfeeding the motor.
