Best Crossbar Setup For Thule Hullavator Pro Kayak Carrier On 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Question:
Hello, Im interested in getting the Thule Hullavator Pro to carry two 12 long, 28 wide kayaks for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Jeep has factory roof rails running down the length of the roof. I dont have any crossbars. Can you recommend a crossbar length and attachment hardware that will work here? I prefer to stay with Thule parts if possible. Thanks,

In order to install the Thule Hullavator Pro - Lift Assist Kayak Carrier # TH898 on your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with factory roof rails you will need a crossbar setup rated at 130lbs minimum. I recommend going with Thule WingBar Evo Crossbars - Aluminum Silver # TH711400; this is longest crossbar available at 53" long. You will also need Fit Kit # THKIT3142 and Foot Kit # TH460R. This kit has a maximum weight capacity of 165lbs which is more than enough for the Hullavator Pro (I recommend checking your owner's manual to verify your vehicle's roof capacity).
You can add lock cores to the crossbar feet which will keep them secured to the roof rails # TH450400. This kit includes 4 locks and 2 keys. I have attached demonstration videos for the these products.
