Inner Grease Seal Placement On Trailer Electric Brakes

Question:

I just finished installing electric brakes on my aluma trailer with 2200# axle. When I installed the inner grease seal I push it all the way in until it stop after finding out on other videos that most people leave it flush. Will this be a problem or do I have to removed the new seal and replace them again with new ones so that they will be flush.

The only thing that would be an issue is if it doesn't seal on the spindle. The spindle is tapered, so it gets thinner as it moves out toward the threads. If you haven't installed the bearings yet, slide the brake assembly on the spindle, look inside the hub and check to see if there is any space between the seal and spindle. If there is then it will not hold the grease inside. If you don't see any space you should be good, I recommend checking the back side of the hub once in a while to make sure there is no grease getting out. Typically even if the seal is drove in further than flush it will only go so far and will still seal on the spindle.
