Availability of 4-Way to 5-Way Adapter for Towing New Trailer with 5-Way
Question:
My car has a 4 flat connector and Ive used it a lot with a small trailer and it works great! I just bought another trailer and it has a 5 flat connector on it. Is there an adapter I can buy that will let the 4 flat on my car work with the 5 flat on my trailer?

Your 4 way flat will plug right into the 5-way and function the taillights like normal but you would be missing the 5th circuit being active which would most likely be a reverse light circuit for a reverse lock out.
If the trailer has surge brakes and you need to be able to back it up without the brakes applying you'd just need a 4-way to 5-way flat adapter part # 20036. If you have no need for the 5th circuit you can just plug your 4-way in and you'd be set.
