Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver For 2020 BMW X5 sDrive
Question:
My 2020 BMW X5 SDRIVE came with the tow hitch ready package. Does that mean it just needs a hitch

I was unable to find any information about a tow hitch ready package for your 2020 BMW X5 sDrive.
Since you do not have a trailer hitch receiver on your vehicle you will need to add one of which I recommend the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # 76288 you were looking at due to it having a hidden crosstube meaning you will only see the actual receiver once installed, and due to the 720lb tongue weight rating and 7200lb trailer weight rating.
If your X5 sDrive is the M sport package you will need the Stealth Hitches Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver w/ Towing Kit - Custom Fit - 2" # SH25VR instead. This option comes with the required ball mount for towing, and a 7-way trailer connector with wiring.
If you go with the # 76288 you will also need a trailer wiring harness # 119250KIT if it did not come with one from the factory, and a ball mount, hitch ball, and hitch pin and clip which all comes with the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900.
I included videos for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
