Is an Adapter Bar Required to Carry Womens Mountain Bikes on Hollywood Racks Towing Bike Rack
Question:
I have a 05 Mercury Mountaineer towing a 07 Viking Epic 1906 pop-up camper. My hitch bar is a Class 3 and has 10inch between the hitch pin hole and the ball hole. The questions are: Will two 26inch Womens Mountain bikes fit this bike rack TH934XTR ? Will I need to buy bike adapters ?

If the bikes are typical of the way bike makers design womens bikes, with the slanted top tube, then you will need to use an adapter bar for each bike. You can use adapter # HRBA-PRO.
They work well. One end clamps around the handle bar gooseneck, the other end around the seat post creating an artificial top tube that is more horizontal. This allows the bikes to be more level and also provides greater ground clearance.
Keep in mind that when using a towing bike rack that the weight of the rack and the bikes counts as tongue weight along with the trailers tongue weight.
