How To Help Balance Heavy Tongue Weight on Travel Trailer

Question:

Hi. I have a 2016 GD TT. I am looking for ideas to balance my TT. As you well know, the only storage is in the front. I have a hitch in the rear but only holds 300 lbs. My tongue weight empty is about 1400 lbs, know loading the closet and only necessary items in the front storage, I am pushing 1700 lbs. I have tried to load in the rear of the trailer but having trouble keeping stuff in place. Any help would be appreciated.

The best option we can offer to help offset a heavy tongue on a trailer would be a load equalizing device. This device will help transfer the tongue weight of the trailers to the vehicle so you don't have issues such as proposing or vehicle sag etc. The best option we have for such a heavy tongue weight is the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System part # EQ64FR which is rated up to 1,600 lbs and requires a 2-1/2" trailer hitch.

If you need help on distributing the weight within the trailer for you exact trailer I would suggest doing some research on forums.
