Is Extra Grease Needed When Installing the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 3.5K Axles
Question:
Do you need to add grease to a pre-lubed drum and hub when installing?

Expert Reply:
The Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly part # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K comes pre-lubed which means the bearings are already packed for you but you would still want to add extra grease to the spindle and then fill the hubs as needed prior to use. If you don't already have some compatible grease I would simply recommend ordering the Marine Wheel Bearing Grease part # L154FR which comes in 3-3oz cartridges that you can use with or without a grease gun. The color of the grease won't matter as far as compatibility goes.
