Does The Heat Shield Have To Be Cut Out When Installing Item # C16418-204 On A 2008 GMC Sierra

Yes, when installing the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit Item # C16418-204, the section of the heat shield on your 2008 GMC Sierra attached to the bottom of the bed does have to be cut out because it would interfere with the center section going in place. The center section, when placed under the bed sits almost up against the bottom of the bed and the heat shield is attached to the hat channels. You would only need to cut out the section where the center section is being installed, not the hole thing.
