Recommended 12 Electric Brake Assembly For Use on Boat Trailer
Question:
Do you have an drum electric brake assemblies that are rated marine grade for boat trailers? Thank you

Expert Reply:
Electric brakes aren't typically designed with use on a boat trailer in mind, for obvious reasons, but we have seen it done before. You can use something that is Dacromet coated like the Electric Trailer Brake Kit - Dacromet - 12" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 5.2K to 7K # AKEBRK-7-D, which are 12" brakes designed for trailers with 5200-7000-lbs axles. This is the only size of electric brakes with Dacromet coating that we have available; these would be the best suited for use on a boat trailer, but technically you could use any other normal electric brake assembly.
If you also need to replace the drum, you'll need to know the bolt pattern of your wheel and which bearings are used in your current hubs. If you can let me know that information I can also help you locate hubs and drums if those need replacement too.
