How to Ensure 2018 Ram 2500 is Stable When Towing 5th Wheel Trailer

Question:

I own a 2018 Ram 2500 4x4 crew cab with Diesel. What do I need to increase my payload capacity for towing a fifth wheel RV. I’m not over but I want to make sure my truck remains stable and legal

While we can offer you a solution to ensure your 2018 Ram 2500 is stable when towing, there is no way to increase the capacity of your truck. These capacities are set by the manufacturer to ensure safe towing, and there is nothing you can add that will be able to circumvent those capacities. You can make your towing experience stable and safer, however, by adding rear suspension enhancement, and it is something I highly recommend when towing a 5th wheel trailer.

The reason is, what happens when towing a 5th wheel is the back end of your truck will drop a bit due to the weight, causing the front of the truck to rise This means your front tires are not making as much contact with the ground, impacting your traction and making your Ram more difficult to handle.

The best way to counteract this is by adding suspension support, the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDR2500D.

What the Timbrens do is take the brunt of the added weight, cushioning the load and stabilizing your truck. This will allow your front wheels to make full contact with the ground as the weight is evened out, giving you much improved handling and control over your truck and trailer.

I have added some links below to video reviews for you to check out as well of the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # TDR2500D.
