Electric Brake Kit For 3,500 lb Boat Trailer

Question:

Im thinking of putting electric brakes on my boat trailer. Its a tandem axle and currently has hydraulic surge brakes that dont work at all and look pretty bad. The trailer is a 1989. I would be needing the drums as well. The old brakes are 10 x 2 1/4, wheel size is 14. The axle is 1 3/4. Boat is 23 long and weighs 3500#. What brakes do you recommend? Also, my truck 2006 Tacoma is currently a 4 blade for the electrical. Thank you.

Check your bearing numbers and make sure that the inner bearing is L68149 (1.378" inner diameter) and the outer bearing is L44649 (1.063" inner diameter). If so you can use this electric brake kit # 23-26-27 with these hubs # AKHD-545-35-EZ-K. You will need to get a 7-Pole trailer connector set up and this kit # ETBC7 will do the trick! The easiest brake controller you can get is the Curt Echo # C51180. It's super easy to use and connects straight to your phone!

I've included an installation video to help!
