Yakima Holdup or Thule T2 Classic Bike Rack for 29er

Question:

I have a Felt 6061 29er with Schwalb Rapid Rob tires which are listed as being 2.25.inch Ive measured and that seems about right. One of the reviews mentioned that the tire hooks didnt fit well over their 29er tire and he had to push down very hard. Im also concerned about the width of the tire cup which is listed as 3inch but is heavily curved and could conceivably have problems with a 2.25 tire. Will this rack work for my situation? If not, do you have another recommendation in roughly same price range. Thanks,

Yakima generally does a great job with determining the size of bikes that fit their racks. So the Yakima Holdup 2 part # Y02443 that you referenced would work great for you as it has been confirmed to fit up to a 29 inch wheel size with a tire that is up to 3 inches wide. So your tire size that is 29 inches and 2-1/4 inches wide would work great.

It's a little more money but if you wanted the best and most time-tested bike rack in this style the Thule T2 Pro XTR part # TH69TX would be your best option. This is the bike rack the Holdup attempted to replicate since it's so universally loved. It's very easy to use, very solid, and even more universal in the bikes it can fit as it fits tires up to 5 inches wide and 29 inches in diameter. It can be set up to hold 2 or 4 bikes as needed.

I attached review videos for both racks for you to check out as well.
