Roof Rack For Naked Roof On 2017 Porsche Macan
Question:
Hello. I have a 2017 Porsche Macan with no roof racks. What are the some options for me if I wanted to install cross bars on the roof to facilitate a bike or surfboard rack? I am not partial to any brand, just want the best product that will not damage the car in any way. I appreciate any assistance.

Most of our neighbors who have higher end vehicles, and do not want a fixed solution to a roof rack choose the SeaSucker Monkey Bars Vacuum Cup Roof Rack Part # 298-SX6000B. It secures quickly and easily with the vacuum cups and provides more than enough suction to carry bikes or surfboards. It provides a weight capacity of 150 pounds! Our neighbors prefer this design because of the installation process and the scratch free security the suction cups offer. It provides plenty of adjustability as well for whatever it is you decide to carry.
To carry your surfboard, I suggest the SUP and Surfboard Pads Part # 298-SA1022 as well as the Cam Buckle Tie-Down Straps Part # 298-SA0010. Both are made to work in conjunction with the SeaSucker Monkey Bars.
Now for a bike rack, I recommend the Thule Fastride Roof Bike Rack Part # TH95JV. It not only looks great with the aluminum construction, it is easy to assemble and install. Keep in mind, it does require that your bike have a 9-mm quick-release skewer, 9-mm captive, 12-mm, or 15-mm thru-axle. A fork mounted bike rack makes it much easier to load and unload the bike, especially on taller vehicles.
I have attached below review and installation videos showcasing the products listed as well as them in use!
