Are Monitors for Truck Bed Cameras Measured Lengthwise or Diagonally
Question:
is the monitor size for the truck bed cameras measured side to side or diagonally? Thanks,

Expert Reply:
Monitors for truck bed or back up cameras are measured diagonally, like computer monitors and television screens. For instance, for a 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500, if you were interested in a truck bed camera, you'd choose # 3460010 for a 8 inch monitor or # 3460011 for a 7 inch monitor. These cameras are intended for vehicles with an existing reverse camera. Either system includes a switch that will let you toggle between the back up and the truck bed camera.
If your Silverado 2500 does not already have a reverse camera, you'd use the # 3460013 which includes a monitor or # 3460014 which includes a monitor/rear view mirror that would replace your existing rear view mirror.
I've linked to a demonstration video that you might find helpful.
