Fit of Malone MPG114MD Downloader Kayak Carrier on Factory Roof Rack of 2021 Subaru Outback
Question:
Will a pair of these fit on my Outback without buying additional bars? My wife is short and we arent getting younger. Im 68 and we have 2 12 foot Perception Kayaks. Its getting harder to load and other easy load seem to only allow one kayak per vehicle.

The answer to your question will depend on how much usable crossbar space is offered by your existing crossbars. If you have about 35 inches of available crossbar space on your roof rack, measured side to side, you would indeed be able to install two of the # MPG114MD Malone Downloader kayak carriers on your vehicle roof.
If you don't have that much available width, you could go with longer crossbars such as the # MPG215, also from Malone.
You might also be interested in something like the # RL100660 door step from Rightline, which would make it much easier to easily access the roof of your vehicle.
Malone also sells the same kayak carrier with a load assist as part # MPG114MD-351XL. You can see how that works by viewing the linked video. This would be a great choice for loading your kayaks.
