Base Plate and Tow Bar Wiring Kit for 2014 Honda CR-V
Question:
I am interested in the base plate BX2258 for my 2014 Honda CRV. Your website does not seem to recommend a wiring kit that would also be needed. Please advise

We do offer all of the parts you need in order to flat tow your 2014 Honda CR-V, including the wiring kit and Blue Ox base plates you mentioned. Those parts will be needed, as well as a compatible tow bar and supplemental braking system if you do not already have them. The correct parts for your '14 CR-V are the following:
- Base Plate Kit: Blue Ox Base Plate Kit # BX2258
- Tow Bar: Blue Ox Alpha 2 Tow Bar # BX7380
- Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154
- Supplemental Braking System: Demco SBS Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System # DM86VR
OR
- For a motorhome with air brakes: Demco SBS Air Force One Supplemental Braking System # DM26VR
The Blue Ox base plates you like are a great option that will give your CR-V a clean look, and the Alpha tow bar is the best option because it has long arms which make it easier to maneuver when towing, along with integrated safety cables so those won't need to be purchased separately.
The Roadmaster wiring kit is great because it is designed to prevent any type of electrical feedback, keeping your CR-V's electrical system safe, and both the Stay-IN-Play DUO as well as the Air Force One are highly recommended because they are a one-time install which will never require any type of removal or reactivation, and because they give you braking proportional to that of your motorhome. This results in much smoother braking than most systems which send out a pre-set amount of braking power.
