Which Sumo Spring Product for 2018 GMC 1500 Towing Up To 10,000 lbs
Question:
I am looking into sumo springs for a 1500 GMC 2018.I pull a 10000lb dump trailer with 4 ton occasionally and a 7500lb with a 2.5 ton tractor occasionally also. Would you recommend the black or yellow. Would yellow affect the ride. Thank You

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since the SumoSprings will be helping to support the trailer's tongue weight load, ideally you'll want to match the amount of support offered by the SumoSpring to the trailer's tongue weight. Since at most, the tongue weight of your dump trailer will be about 1500 lbs, worst case, I'd go with the 1500 lb capacity, part # SS95MR.
When installed, the springs won't quite touch the rear truck axle, so they won't have any effect on your ride except when you're hauling items in the truck bed or towing. I believe the yellow springs, part # SS45MR would ride somewhat harsh when you're towing.
I've linked you to a description video for the # SS95MR I mentioned above.
