Roof Rack Install Kit For 2014 Tesla Model S
Question:
Looking for a roof rack for a 2014 Tesla non-glass roof. I see the various racks that come up on the site, but I want to know if the fit kits that are referenced in e-trailers installation videos are also available from e-trailer.

The exact rack you need for your non-glass roof on your 2014 Tesla Model S is the Seasucker # 298-SX6000B
Seasucker's proprietary design with the vacuum cups is unique compared to other roof racks, so there should be no need for a fit kit with this product. We do carry fit kits for other roof rack products, and I've attached a link to a page that lists all of those fit kits.
The Seasucker rack does come with everything you need for installation. The video I've linked does an excellent job detailing the installation process for the Seasucker, and you will find this rack is quite simple and easy to install.
I contacted one of our other roof rack manufacturers regarding non-glass roof models of the Tesla Model S and overall roof rack compatibility. It turns out that the non-glass roof Model S doesn't have the fixed points required for mounting these other systems. The only models that have the fixed points required for a fit are the ones with the panoramic glass roof.
This limitation does not apply to the Seasucker rack. You'll find the Seasucker is not just a good fit for your Model S, it's simply a great product, too.
