Level Adjustment Knob Not Working On Tekonsha Voyager Brake Controller In A 1999 Chevrolet Silverado
Question:
1999 Silverado 1500 factory tow package.. I installed part # 39510 Voyager controller with the correct wiring harness adapter... Led stays green. The level knob will not adjust as the manual states..brake lights work on both trailer and truck ..brakes only work when manual button is applied..please help..thank you

On your 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 the first thing I would check is the in cab fuse. It is a 10 amp fuse that is marked for the center high third brake light. If that fuse is blown, the Tekonsha Voyager Item # 39510 will not function properly. Replace the fuse, test the red wire while applying the brake pedal to make sure it has power. If you have power to the red wire. Connect the trailer to the vehicle, turn the knob clockwise until it stops. Push on the brake and hold it down as you turn the knob counter clockwise. You should notice the color change. Adjust until you notice it change to orange. Take the vehicle and trailer out to an empty parking lot and make several stops. If the brakes lock up on the trailer adjust the knob accordingly.
