Recommended Bike Rack for Carrying 3 Bikes Where One Bike Has 16 Inch Tires

Hi do you carry the Kuat transfer 3 bike rack? If so, what’s the price? If not, any recommendations for 3 bikes, one being a kids bike, 16”...

Expert Reply:
I have a solution for you to carry 3 bikes on a platform rack, but the Kuat Transfer 3 is not currently available; additionally the Kuat Transfer racks are designed for bikes with at least 20" tires, so it wouldn't work for your child's bike with 16" tires.
With that said, your best option because of the small tires on the children's bike is going to be a hanging rack; I recommend using the Thule Helium Pro # TH9043PRO. This is a 3 bike rack that folds up easily for storage and can be tilted away from the rear of your vehicle to allow rear cargo access. This rack is compatible with both 1-1/4" and 2" hitches, so it will work on almost all vehicles. The Helium Pro is light weight at 27-lbs and gives you a great looking and functional Thule bike rack. This rack also comes with a locking hitch pin and a built in cable lock for the bikes.
You will need a bike frame adapter bar like the # 64005 for the children's bike and any other bikes that you'll be carrying that have aggressive step through frames; this will make loading the bike easier and allow you to carry the bikes level.
