How to Attach Tow Bar Safety Cables to D-ring Bumper When Flat Towing Jeep Wrangler
Question:
My vehicle is a 2014 Jeep Wrangler with D-ring mounts. I want to interface to a Roadmaster Nighthawk. Where do I attach the safety cables on the Jeep side? Thanks

To make the physical connection between the Roadmaster # RM-676 Nighthawk tow bar and the tab the D-ring is connected to, you'd need the # RM-035 for 7/8 or 1 inch wide tabs or # RM-035-1 for 3/4 inch wide tabs. I'd also recommend you check with the manufacturer of your bumper to make sure it's rated for towing the weight of the vehicle.
For the safety cables, since you're not using traditional base plates and there's no apparent place to mount the cables you'll need to use extensions like # RM-910648-20 and loop them around the frame members behind the bumper. The cables have an 8K capacity, so they'll work just fine for you. This is the solution recommended by Roadmaster, and it works very well.
