Parts Needed to Re-Mount Factory 7 Way on 2013 Volkswagen Touareg
Question:
I wish to purchase a Curt Echo brake controller for my 2013 VW Touareg. The location of the factory 7 pin outlet near the hitch is angled such that the Curt would likely drag on the ground when entering a steep driveway. I need to find a 90 degree adapter that will angle the Curt up and out of harms way. Is there such a product available?

I may have a solution for you, but there's not an adapter for anything like this. However, the Curt Echo # C51180 is only 6-5/8" long, and about 1-1/2" of that will be inserted into the factory 7 way plug on your 2013 VW Touareg. I also don't recommend leaving this connected when it's not in use- mostly for security reasons, and so the opportunities for this to actually bottom out will be limited.
With that said, you could re-mount the 7 way plug using a new bracket like the Mounting Bracket for 7-Way # 18138, which would allow you to re-mount the 7 way in a manner that won't hang down so dramatically.
