Components Needed for the Curt Venturer Brake Controller to be Used on a 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup
Question:
I need a list of parts for adding a brake controller to a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L. I have on another truck a Curt #C51110 and really like it. That controller will be fine. Also I need what ever wiring harness is necessary to hook it up to the truck as well. I also need a 7 way plug kit with the wiring to hook it to the truck too. Thanks so much

If you prefer using the Curt Venturer Trailer Brake Controller, part # C74VV, then we have the adapters required to make them work.
If you already have a 4-way on your 2004 Dodge Ram Pickup, then the adapter for the Venturer is part # C51332. This will plug into the Venturer and the factory brake controller port of your pickup. I've linked to a video review of this adapter for you to look at.
To convert your 4-way into a 7-way, you will need the etrailer Universal Installation Brake Controller Kit, part # ETBC7. It will give you ports for a 7-way and a 4-way. I've linked to a video installation of this kit for your reference.
If you don't already have a 4-way, then you will need that before you can hookup the ETBC7. Use the Curt T-Connector, part # C55504. I've linked to a video review of this harness as well.
Finally, if you didn't have the 4-way already, then it's highly likely that you don't have the brake controller port I mentioned above. In that case, do not use the C51332. Instead, use the one that does not have the plug and can be wired in. It is part # C51515. I've linked to this one's video review, too.
