Cable Slack Troubleshooting With Gorilla-Lift Tailgate Assist
Question:
I read the comment about bi-fold gates and understand the limited use, however, before drilling for bolt on the gate... If I attach the cable as far up as possible on the first section of the bi-fold gate, there is slack in the cable. Is that normal, will it still be functional and/or should the cable be shortened and how?

Seems like you have tall trailer side rails, a smaller gate or both. You can move the Gorilla-Lift Utility Trailer # GL1 back 1/4 inches from the edge to try and compensate for the slack. Any farther back and you will have an issue with your trailer rubbing the cable and causing damage to both your trailer and the cable.
If these adjustments aren't enough then you have a Rack'em Option # RA-27C which uses a chain instead of a cable which can be cut to your desired length.
