Recommended Wedge For Curt Fifth Wheel Hitch To Use Sidewinder Pin Box
Question:
I bought a kz Durango 5th wheel used and I also bought the hitch from the same individual. the difference was his hitch was in a short bed and I put it in my longbed truck. the hitch got bent out of shape so I had to purchase another hitch. I bought a curt hitch for my truck that was sufficient enough to handle the weight. before pulling the camper I checked with camper service and was told my hitch wouldnt work because the pin box has the sidewinder set up. cant I just change the plate on top of my hitch? I have spent enough money already with this camper. my hitch is new and I was told I could just change the plate instead of entire hitch.

I am sorry to hear you are having issues with your fifth wheel hitch!
Depending on what model Curt Fifth Wheel hitch you have there are wedges that will allow the hitch to be used with sidewinder rotating pin box, but the Q Series hitches are not compatible with Wedges and cannot be used with rotating pin boxes.
For example if you have a Curt A Series Hitch you will need Wedge # C16992, or if you have a Curt E16 Hitch you will need Wedge # C16991.
If you do not have either of these two hitches please just let me know which hitch you have and I would be happy to recommend the correct wedge for your application.
