What Is The Easiest Kayak Carrier To Install And Use?

Question:

Is there a video on how easy it s to remove them from my 4Runner after use? Should you remove them? Is it safe to drive around with them unlocked on your vehicle driving on freeway at high speeds? I see some of the systems fold down but it doesnt appear that these fold.

If you're using the Malone SeaWing Kayak Carrier # MPG113MD it is just as easy to take the carrier off as it is to put it on. You can see how easy in the review video I've included for you! I would recommend locking them whenever driving with them installed. You can keep them on your roof for their whole life if you want. The materials do a good job standing up against the elements. There are carries that do fold, as this one does not. I use the etrailer J-Style Carriers # e98878 because of that reason.

Comparing ours carrier to the Malone SeaWing, I would say ours is more friendly to those not wanting to remove the carrier every time you are done using it because it folds up really nicely and won't affect your fuel economy as much as a fixed carrier would. Both install the same and are both super easy to take off as well. If you're looking to load from the back every time, go with the SeaWing, if side loading is preferred ours is the better choice. I side load all my Kayaks and I have a leveled Chevy Tahoe. It is the easiest for me because rear loading is easier the lower your roof is. My recommendation is going with the etrailer J-Style Carrier just because I think it will be easier to load a kayak and you will be able to haul two kayaks EASY on your 2020 Toyota 4Runner

I've included some videos for you to check out!
