While you can carry a trio of bikes on your 2015 Volkswagen e-Golf convertible, there is no way to use a trunk-mounted bike rack on the vehicle, so to carry three bikes you will need to add a trailer hitch receiver and 3-bike rack.
For the hitch receiver, there are two options from EcoHitch, with the only difference being the receiver size; one with a 1-1/4" receiver # 306-X7310, or my recommended option, the 2" receiver EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7309.
The EcoHitch with the 2" receiver is the best simply because it gives you more - and better - options for a 3-bike rack than a 1-1/4" receiver does. Then for a 3-bike rack I recommend the RockyMounts WestSlope 3-Bike Rack # RKY10223.
The WestSlope is a really high-quality rack that grasps your bikes by the wheels and has tiered spacing between the bikes which means they are going to be completely safe from making any contact with each other. I have added links below to come video reviews for you to check out as well.
