Square Bar Thule Roof Rack for 2019 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab & Load Extender to Carry Canoe
Question:
I have a 2019 Tacoma double cab short bed truck. Looking to transport 17 foot canoe using one roof rack and Support in the hitch receiver. Prefer square tube Thule rack for the cab. What items do you recommend? By the way, I am getting up in years. If there’s an easy way to hoist the canoe, let me know. Thanks.

We can get you set up with a Thule square bar roof rack for your 2019 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab and a carrier for your canoe. Let's start with the roof rack fit for your truck, which consists of the following parts:
- Thule SquareBar Evo Crossbars # TH712400
- Evo Clamp Feet for Thule Crossbars # TH710501
- Fit Kit for Thule Evo Clamp Roof Rack Feet # TH145107
I do recommend protecting your investment by securing the roof rack to your Tacoma with locks, the Thule One-Key System Lock Cylinders # TH450400. Since these are square crossbars, it is a good idea to add a wind fairing as well, the AirScreen XT for Thule Crossbars # TH22WV.
For a canoe carrier, I recommend sticking with Thule, and going with the Thule Portage Canoe Carrier with Tie-Downs # TH819.
The load extender that I recommend that can also be used as a load assist to help you get your canoe on the roof of your Tacoma is the Yakima LongArm Bed and Roof Load Extender for 2" Hitches # Y01149-1150.
The LongArm has tilting height adjustments which help it act as a load assist, and you can add a pad to keep your canoe cushioned on the bar with the Crossbar Pad for Yakima LongArm Load Extender # Y07417.
I have added links below to video reviews of these parts for you to take a look at as well.
