Sliding 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2015 Ram 2500 with a B&W Turnover Gooseneck Ball
Question:
I have a 2015 Ram 2500 diesel 4x4 with a short bed 6 1/2foot bed that has a gooseneck installed. I am in the process of purchasing a 5th wheel Big Country 3560SS. I want to use the currently installed gooseneck to have a 5th wheel hitch instead of having to remove the gooseneck. curtmfg.com have a gooseneck adapter PN: 16310 that appears to use the current gooseneck opening to install a square shank adapter plate. My question is will the Demco Hijacker autoslide PN: DM8550034 work with this adapter plate? Thx

We have a 5th wheel hitch to suit your 2015 Ram 2500.
First, though, the Curt X5 5th Base Rails for the B&W Turnover, part # 16310, and the Demco Hijacker Autoslide, part # DM8550034, will not work for two reasons. First, the Curt X5 is not compatible with sliding 5th wheel hitches, which is necessary for a 6-1/2' bed like yours. Second, the Demco Hijacker Autoslide is not compatible on its own with a B&W Turnover Gooseneck.
A better solution is to use the B&W Companion 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch with Slider, part # BWRVK3400-5W. Being a 5th wheel hitch specifically made for use with your B&W Turnover Gooseneck, this hitch will not require the use of an adapter. Another plus is this hitch has a gross towing weight of 20,000 pounds (2,000 more than the Hijacker). Yet another advantage is that this hitch can be easily removed for when you want full truck bed access (the Hijacker and X5 would be much more of a hassle). Finally, the B&W features dual jaws for a much better grip than the single-jawed Hijacker.
I've linked to a video review of this hitch for you to look at.
