What Roof Rack Fits Both 1973 BMW 2002

For 1970s vintage vehicles there are few options for multi-fit roof racks. Most manufacturers fitment guides do not go that far back.

You will be best served by a universal fit rack, such as the Darby Turbo-Rack Universal Single-Bar Roof Rack, part # DTA968. This part is sold as a single bar, so for a typical installation you will need to order two of these.

The universal fit system uses a steel support bar that can telescope from 45 inches to 60 inches and foam pillars with a strap to secure the rack. (The strap goes through the interior of the vehicle; so it is necessary that the car doors be open during installation.) No tools are required.

You may want to refer to the vehicle owner manual, if still available, for specifics as to the roof load bearing capacity.
