Inverter for my 2005 Ford E-250 Van Modified by Sportsmobile to be Camper
Question:
The plastic plate over AC wall socket broke. The sockets wiring is undamaged. Can I plug Part 332-Pl130 into our vans cigarette lighter socket to produce AC current for a space heater 120v, 60Hz, 15.1200 watts? Weve used the socket for a fan and a shortwave radio previously. Or, is there a less costly part/solution?

The closest thing I have for that kind of power demand is the Wagan Power Inverter 1000 Watts with Three AC Receptacles part # WC3720. It produces 1000 Watts but not quite the 1200 you are looking for.
I would use caution in doing this most of the time the cigarette lighter is not fused for that kind of power and a space heater will drain your battery fairly quickly potentially leaving you with out a way to start your rig.
In this situation I recommend replacing the cover over the receptacle and using it through the AC power side of your van.
