In order to make sharp turns on a short bed truck like your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500 with the puck system, most sliding hitches do require you to get out of the truck to activate the slide, including the B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Hitch with Slider # BWRVK3775.
There is one option that does not require you to do that, however, which is the Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Hitch. The hitch slides automatically so you never have to leave the cab of your truck to make a tight turn. It really is the most convenient 5th wheel hitch for a short bed truck, not to mention being a very high-quality hitch altogether.
The Hijacker is available with either an 18,000 lb or 21,000 lb capacity, and will fit in the pucks of your 2020 Chevy Silverado 2500, but requires an adapter to do so, the Demco 5th Wheel Rail Adapter for Chevy/GMC OEM 5th Wheel Towing Prep Package # DM6333.
With this adapter you can use either Hijacker:
- 18,000 lb Capacity: Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550034
- 21,000 lb Capacity: Demco Hijacker Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # DM8550035
