Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500
Question:
So we just recently got a travel trailer. The truck that we have can tow 7100 lbs and the trailer is only 5000 lbs. It pulls it great now but the transmission temperature is high like in 198-215ish. What can we do to help prevent it from getting so hot? 2016 Chevy 1500

Transmissions should operate at right around 200 degrees ideally. The 215 degrees is a little concerning as 220 is recognized to reduce power and the life of the transmission, so I do recommend adding a transmission cooler to your truck. I recommend the Derale Dyno-Cool Tube-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit - Class III - Economy # D12903 to assist in cooling your transmission to keep your truck functioning well.
